NOTICE TO DOG OWNERS

The Board of Directors has received several complaints about excessive barking from certain dogs, both larger AND smaller dogs in our neighborhood. We have had problems with barking dogs in the past, so all residents are on notice that this problem will not be tolerated.

Our position regarding dogs has not changed, and is in accordance with our by-laws. Nuisance dogs will NOT be permitted to remain within the Bliss Farm development, and dogs MUST be brought inside as soon as they start barking.

Other guidelines regarding residents maintaining dogs within the development are as follows:

1. Board of Directors approval is required BEFORE any dog is allowed within the development. If you do not have approval for a dog currently kept in your home, you should send a written request to the Board of Directors as soon as possible.

2. Certain dogs with known violent tendencies are not allowed under any circumstances; Staffordshire Terriers (also known as 'Pit Bulls'), Akitas, Bull Mastiffs to name a few.

3. Under no circumstances are dogs to be left outside when the owner is not at home.

4. When outside, dogs must be kept in a fully enclosed pen, or on a leash or dog run at all time, and not on the front side of the dwelling. ELECTRONIC DOGS FENCES ALONE ARE NOT AN ACCEPTABLE MEANS OF RESTRAINT.

Following this general notice, problem dogs will be addressed on an individual basis - first with a warning letter from the board of directors, then with a second warning letter and a $50 fine, and if the problem continues, the dog will be physically removed from Bliss Farm and not allowed back on Bliss Farm common or limited common land. The dog owner will also be responsible to reimburse the association for all costs involved to remove a nuisance dog.
